Abstract:

In a phase diagram, the spindodal and critical points are given as solutions to polynomial equations; hence, they are algebraic. This invites us to use algebra-geometric tools to gain insights into phase separation diagrams. The talk will then focus on the geometries and topologies of the three components of the Flory-Huggins model.
